Well balanced cow Grashoek Tonnie 72
K.I. Samen aims for herds with longevity and high lifetime production. Besides the AI center, K.I. Samen also has its own breeding and dairy farm, the place where proven breeding can be seen in practice. This is also where Grashoek Tonnie 72 can be seen.
Owner Ralph Engelen: “Grashoek Tonnie 72 is an uniform cow, harmoniously built and with a quite modest stature. She has lovely loins and a balanced rump.” Tonnie 72, a daughter by Ladylover, contributes plenty of milk to the daily yield. The average lactation value on the farm is 100 and scoring 120, Tonnie 72 is well above that figure. “A cow not only has to produce milk, she also has to maintain her body condition. Tonnie 72 is fertile, has a low somatic cell count and super udder health.” Ralph laughs: “She is always at the feeding fence enjoying her feed and is first to arrive in the parlour. That’s just how I like to see them! She has more than proven her value in practice.”
A well balanced herd that can achieve the following goals:
+ At least 4 lactations
+ Lifetime production of at least 50,000 kg of milk with good component percentages
+ Problem-free cows that require a lower labour input
+ Higher conversion of forage into milk
